The Bruery Provisions

Did you know we opened up a homebrew shop about a month ago?  If you haven't, that's probably because we've been keeping it quiet as we're just starting to get the hang of it.  The shop has made some great progress over the past month and we're really proud of it.  Where was this store when I first started homebrewing in Chapman University student housing?  I had to drive all the way to Long Beach, Riverside or Laguna Niguel!

The Bruery Provisions features a great selection of homebrew ingredients, equipment, books about beer and homebrewing, as well as Bruery merchandise and general beer merchandise.  We're also one of the few places where you can buy the DVD of Beer Wars!

We're in the process of building a web store so we can sell everything to be shipped or for pickup.  Hopefully we can get that running sometime in July.

Every few days we're getting new inventory, and if you need anything in particular, we'll get it for you.  We hope you enjoy it!

Red, White, and Brue!

This Fourth of July, celebrate Independence Day at The Bruery with our Red, White, and Brue party!

To commemorate this holiday, we invite you to come enjoy a little outdoor grilling, a few games, and of course, some great beer.  For the occasion, we'll be pouring a few special beers - can't tell you what they are yet, but let's just say it'll be a patriotic twist on a Bruery favorite!

Our hours will be 11 am - 4 pm, so come in and celebrate with us and fill up your growlers or grab a few bottles for your own parties and picnics afterwards.

See you there!

PS - the name was inspired by a suggestion of one of our customers so we just want to say thanks Greg!

Beer for a Cause

Ever thought to yourself, "Boy, I really wish that drinking this beer could also help the world" ? Well, this Saturday, June 27th, The Bruery will be helping out in the Relay For Life by donating 50% of all draft sales to the American Cancer Society.

Our very own Benjamin Weiss has been participating in the Relay for a couple of years now and we are proud to support such a worthwhile cause.

If you can make it down to the Tasting Room on Saturday to enjoy a few pints, we'd love to see you there.  Ben will be around and able to accept checks made out to the American Cancer Society if you feel like donating some more on your own and you can also donate by visiting Ben's online donation page here:  http://main.acsevents.org/goto/benjaminweiss , there is also a printable form on that page for donation by check.

2nd Anniversary!

You are probably thinking, wait...didn't The Bruery just celebrate their first anniversary and isn't Papier hitting shelves this month? And you are correct. But our 2nd anniversary ale has already been racked into barrels where it will be aging for a year. It's tough creating something that you know is going to be so delicious, yet you can't touch it for a year. We might have to put these under lock & key so that we don't sneak a taste. Let the countdown begin to anniversary number two...

Science!

A lot more goes into making a great beer than meets the eye. There is quite a bit of lab work that must go on behind the scenes to ensure that every batch of beer reaches its highest potential. Anyone who has homebrewed knows that its tough to duplicate a recipe. We have to ensure that what the consumer gets when they buy a bottle of beer from The Bruery is exactly what they have come to expect from the previous bottles they have opened and this means we must scrutinize every aspect of each recipe each time we brew and then test the final product.

This morning, Tyler dedicated some time to our lab area where he ran some quality control tests to be sure everything is up to par. So far so good. Check out all the cool petri dishes!
